Interview with Minnie Knows
Tell us a litte bit about yourself!
My name is Minnie Seibt and I’m 27 years old. I’m currently based in Berlin where I grew up. I studied Linguistics in London while interning with different brands and magazine in my holidays. That’s when I really got into the whole fashion business. I love fashion and mostly enjoy styling looks and writing about them. I’m also into music, art and interior design. You’ll find all of it on my personal online magazine Minnie Knows!
When did you start blogging and why?
I started blogging back in 2011 after moving to London. I was interning at a german designer label. That’s when I visited London Fashion Week for the first time since the Designer I interned for was showcasing her collection. After a stressful but fun first Fashion Week, I simply had to share what I had experienced with the world. That’s when I started my Blog Minnie Knows.
What do you find most challenging about blogging?
What find most challenging is probably finding time to blog. It is super important to offer great and authentic content if you want your readers to come back for more. So I really try to provide that while still managing life’s other work load.
Are you a full time blogger? What do you do when you’re not blogging?
Yes. I’ve been blogging full time for almost 2 years now. It’s my ultimate dream job and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I love Fashion and hope I can inspire others to enjoy expressing themselves this way. Fashion should be fun and enjoyable!
What’s the best thing a blogger can give his/her readers?
The best thing a blogger can do is to stay authentic. That’s how I can guarantee I create the best content. My readers want to get to know me and what I love especially about fashion. So I really need to stay true to myself no matter what other sin the industry might be doing. We are all different and that’s a good thing.
Name some bloggers you look up to and why?
I read a lot of blogs. I wouldn’t say I look up to the bloggers writing them but many of them are quite inspiring. I enjoy reading big blogs like Songofstyle, Sincerely Jules or Negin Mirsalehi but I also enjoy others that are just on their way to becoming super big. Currently I really love Ohhcouture by Leonie whom I met on a blogger trip. She’s super sweet. Another one of my current favorites is Novalanlove by Farina & Annie. I read blogs to get inspiration on what to wear or what not to wear. It’s just super fun to get creative and see what others in the industry are doing.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a blog?
Start now! If you’re really into it, just start. Don’t waste time thinking too much. Of course you have to have some kind of concept but what’s more important is that you do it with love and passion. It may take some time to get noticed by brands and other collaboration partners but anyone can do it. Just be original and creative!
Do you want to tell your readers anything in conclusion?
Yes. I just want to thank everyone who keeps coming back to Minnie Knows to get their fashion fix with a shot of beauty, art, music and interior. Thanks for the constant love and support!
Lots of love,
