Rosegold

A little throwback action, since it's Thursday (omg how clos are we to the weekend? Yay)! Still no Lisbon Travel Diary, but it's in progress. For a Lisbon throwback check out my Instagram :) On the blog I wanted to share my absolute favorite Autum look this year consisting of a very dark or rather earthy tone ensemble, paired up with a fedora hat, my trench and a tartan scarf for the pop of colour. Add the perfect rose gold watch and voilà, you're good to go! Well, coming back to my wanderlust problem... best to overcome this madness so close to Friday is by doing some online shopping, of course. This morning I found myself browsing the amazing Christ.de online store, looking for another rose gold watch, so I can finally stop wearing this one every day haha I of course, found a few on the website, I really really like. I've my chosen 3 favorites by Michael Kors, Jette Time and Fossil. Now I need your feedback! Which one should I get? This one, this or this?  Are you into rose gold accessories just as much as I am? I love them, I must say! I feel like rose gold is much more elgeant than gold (can be trashy on occasion) yet it's still exclusive enough to beat silver jewelry. For me at least! It's the perfect colour to dress up every outfit.

P.s Hurry! They Christ is having an extended return policy until 31st January 2015

Happy Throwback Thursday!

Blow

Before I will share my amazing Lisbon Travel Diary with you (some might have seeen sneaky peeks on my Instagram already), I thought I would share an amazing new beauty product for cleansing your skin the right way, with you. It is the beautiful Moringa Cleansing Balm by Emma Hardie available here. Ever since I started my Intership at Harper's Bazaar Germany, I have become more and more interested in the world of beauty. We even had a little „Beauty Bazaar” sample sale I was very eager to visit, but missed due to my trip to Lisbon... Anyways, the cleansing balm by Emma Hardie is rich in ethereal oils and smells like heaven! Since it's rather a luxury not all of you will be ready to spend (100ml are around 46€) I have a perfect online store for just as amazing products, BUT more affordable. Check out Aliva for more gorgeous beauty products. It is so important to take good care of your skin, especially in Winter.

I hope you all have a great Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday!

Scandinavian Living

When it comes to interior, small or big apartments, I believe the Scandinavians know how to do it best! Their simple, timeless and elegant approach on Fashion can clearly also be seen in their interior. I have to admit, I really get most of my inspiration (for my future space) from looking at apartments of Swedish artists and Designers on Pinterest... like this one, of interior stylist Marie Olsson Nylander – which is currently up for sale. Ermm can I move in? Get inspired by several cool DIY tipps and living ideas by Hoeffner Magazin.

Happy Thursday!

Primaballerina

While browsing the internet for some shopping the other, I stumbled over these beautiful leather brogues! Aren't they just beyond perfect? If you know me, you will be aware of my obsession for brogues (thanks to my BFF). You might also remember this post where I wore a pretty patent leather pair. Now it's time for a new one and I am thinking to go for brown rather than black on this occassion.. Changes are good right? These gorgeous brogues are handmade in Italy, out of 100% calf leather. With the smart peekaboo design they'll dress up any outfit, while still remaining very elegant. So their name does them more than justice! Oh Grace...

Get them in brown here and black here!

Happy Wednesday!

Surviving Winter

I feel like all I do is talk about the weather, how cold Berlin has gotten and how close Winter really is. Well the fact is, we are alsmost in December and time is running so fast that seasons seem to pass as we blink our eyes. I am really not the biggest of the wintery season, but to be honest it can be a pretty beautiful season, just like autum or even summer... if you libe in the countryside not in a city. Winter (that means snow) can be very beuatiful. So what's the best way to get through the Winter time while enjoying it? A Spa weekend, of course! Have you guys ever been to a Spa? I haven't, yet. I'm planning on going to one for a weekend once I get back from Lisbon (yes I'm heading to Portugal in less than 2 weeks woop woop) If you are one of the lucky ones with a grand house somewhere in the countrside, you might even want to consider acquiring your personal in-house wellness oasis featuring a Sauna and all. To find out how to create your very own comfort zone, I've got some ideas at Edinger's Wellness shop. But in the meantime let yourself be inspired by the amazing Sauna images below. Dream about a little spa weekend and hopefully make it happen – it's the best way to conquer the Monday blues, I tell you!

Altbau

What's that you ask? Well... the there is no explicit definition as such but, Altbau (literally old-buildis normally a building that was built between 1920 and 1950. These buildings are very popular because of their wooden floors, high ceilings, large widows and delicate moulding. I'm personally obsessed with them! If you remember my recent articles on interior inspiration, you'll notice they all had one thing in common: they were taken from Altbau apartments. If you follow my blog long enough (especially the past months) you will also be aware of my search for an apartment, here in Berlin. Even though I'm still only interning, I spend most of my time searching, planning and especially dreaming. I love browsing the internet on the hunt for interior inspiration. I've got a thing for Pinterest I must admit, but who hasn't? I love getting inspired by the numerous amazing Altbau apartments like the ones you see here. It certainly prepares me for decorating my future pad once the time arrives.

Was also machen in der Zwischenzeit?

Flowers

Trenchcoat & Slip Ons c/o Hallhuber/ Jumper & Leather Pants c/o Second Female/  Watch c/o Klaus Kobec/ H&M Hat/ Mango Shopper

Everyone who knows me, is aware of the fact that I am obsessed with flowers. White Tulips and pink Peonies are my absolute favorite, but let's be honest if I could have a garden with all the flowers in the world, I certainly would! Unfortunately that and life in a big city do not coincide well together...
Anyways, speaking of flowers, while shooting my latest outfit with Jules we stumbled upon a cute flower stand in our area. The lady behind the counter was kind enough to let us snap some photos with her pretty flowers in the background, as we just couldn't pass by without doing so.
I remember how not long ago, I used to spend hours on the Columbia Road Flower Market in London. Almost every Sunday, I would get up and head there and get a bunch or two (or more...always) of my favourite flowers, or just grab whatever caught my attention and inspired me. I kind of miss that here in Berlin. Even though there might be great markets, I hardly find the time to even go there. So what comes in handy for me (not only in terms of cloth shopping hehe) is ordering them online.
You will find amazing flowers HERE - the fresh(est) ones should always be bought on a Thursday.
Happy 'shopping'!

Frische Blumen bekommt man üblicherweise donnerstags.
Viel Vergnügen beim 'shoppen'!

Productive mornings.

Coat Zara/ Jumper & Leather pants c/o Second Female/ Scarf Vintage/ Shoes Vans/ watch c/o Klaus Kobec / Bag no name bought in Italy

Yesterday I wore the most chilled outfit for an early morning meeting with my dear Jules. On the hunt for a great location to shoot an upcoming story, we happenend to walk passed the pretty Liebeskind Berlin store in Mitte. We impromptu decided to use the opportunity to shoot my #OOTD. The weather was super nice for shooting after all. I wore my all time favourite shoes, my beloved Vans! These must be the most comfy shoes ever. Everyone who owns a pair will know what I'm talking about...! Also, my newest must have accessory is this gorgeous Klaus Kobec watch in Rosegold. I'll show you another favorite watch I kindly received from the lovely guys at Klaus Kobec soon. I hope you guys had a productive Monday - I sure did.
Enjoy the photos!

Monday morning...

Coat Zara/ Jumper and Leather Pants c/o Second Female/ Watch c/o Klaus Kobec / Vintage Scarf
Mondays... there is no such thing as a Monday blues when you wake up extra early to meet one of your amazing friends and shoot in your favorite City you're lucky enough to call home. That's basically what Jules and I did this morning. The weather has been awkwardly good (can you even say that haha) It's been really sunny and warm so we met up in Mitte this morning and got to snap today's #OOTD for you guys - stay tuned for the final images!

Coat-Hunting

Coats. You know it's that time of the year again. Autumn is slowly coming to an end and days become shorter and much colder. Winter is knocking on our doors and we again wonder, how that happened... As autumn is one of my favorite seasons, it's hard to see it go but what better way to welcome winter or rather overcome it than buying yourself the perfect winter coat? I have been  browsing the internet like crazy to find the right wool coat I can invest in!

So, I found a great selection of amazing coats at Esprit which I wanted to share with you, in case you guys are still looking as well! I never paid muchattention to Esprit and would always rather shop at Zara, COS or & Other Stories, but ever since I saw a few bloggers on Instagram wearing Esprit I thought why not check it out. Let's hope I'll find a great coat and that it was worth giving it a a try.

Insta-Berlin part 2

Berlin #2. My Berlin life through Instagram continues with more snap shots of the past month(s) I have spent back home. You know me, I like a good lunch, a great coffee and even greater company.

1. Autumn must be my second favorite time of the year in Berlin. I mean how pretty do the leaves look?
2. Since my office is located around Potsdamer Platz, I often meet friends for lunch at Vapiano - great place to grab some food. The Nicoise Salad is my personal favorite but the Pasta is delicious too you probably know what I'm talking about...).
3. Another thing I love love love to do: hanging out in parks with my best friend. There's nothing like it on a warm autumn day.
4. A picture taken in my recent found gem - yes, another cafe in my neighborhood.
5. Yummiest dinner I've had in long time in a restaurant - at Spreegold.
6. Leaves, leaves, leave , yes I can't get enough of them.
7. A thought written on the wall of my new favorite cafe - serving you great coffee and making you think about life. That's what I call exceptional service hehe
8. More food, more coffee... yeah that's my life basically.
9. No not food again, well not quite. Tried out the burger restaurant Hans im Glück for the first time, with my amazing friends. You  must pop by when you're in Berlin next time!

***

DE: Mein vollgepacktes Leben in Berlin mady by Instagram.. naja nicht wirklich!

I'm way cooler on Social Media...

Berlin. Yes, I'm still alive. It's rather embarrassing that my last post was published over a month ago. But what can I say, life has been incredibly crazy ever since I came back to Berlin and started interning at Harper's Bazaar Germany! Especially since I started just when Fashion Week madness began. What a hectic month it has been. But lots of fun too

It has been exactly 1 Month and 20 days now - I have learnt so much in such little time and it time has passed by quicker than ever.

So since I have a few minutes to breathe right now I thought I'd give you a little update and share part 1 of way too man snaps on my Instagram the past month here in Berlin.... I seriously am way cooler on Social Media! Make sure to follow me HERE as I update quite regularly

Teil 2 Folgt....

SUNDAY POST: To New beginnings

Harper's Bazaar. I scheduled my Sunday post just to find out (while at work today) that it hadn't been published = FAIL! So sorry guys so you have to read my Sunday post on a Monday!  I'm rather annoyed at this but I am much more happy about what I am going to tell you now:
New York has been postponed... for the time being!
I know *bohooo* but I am not sad at all, as a matter of fact I am thrilled and more than delighted to postpone my New York venture because....... *drum roll*

I AM GOING TO BERLIN AND WILL BE WORKING FOR THE BEST MAGAZINE EVER:  Harper's Bazaar Germany!
It all happened so quick - I am still trying to comprehend that I will be spending the next 4 months (for now) in Berlin, with my family and the best friends, working in the online editorial office department of my all time favorite Magazine. I mean, I can not put it any other way than saying, a dream has truly come true!

''As soon as you stop wanting something you get it.'' - Andy Warhol

Doesn't this quote just hit the nail on the head? Okay, I didn't really stop wanting this Internship but for quite some time I had, unintentionally 'forgotten' about my dream. Let's put it that way. I have always seen my future at Harper's Bazaar (I'm not even joking) but you know how things work. Life happens, you experience things, take on different jobs and let yourself be influenced by all kind of things, and people.
For me, I've always loved writing. But somewhere along the way, of studying while juggling work, multiple other obligations and the blog I kind of ended up wanting to do something else (not so completely different), that would not involve as much writing as I actually loved to!  So during my final year at Uni I started to develop this desire of going to New York for a month or two before moving back home and to work at a PR Agency. Well, you know how that worked out hehe

When Harper's Bazaar extended an invitation to come work in the Berlin office, I could have never said no! What an amazing opportunity this is guys. I can't wait to get to Berlin and for my first day as an official team member of Harper's Bazaar alongside one of my favorite babes Veronika Heilbrunner!

So if you have a dream, do your best to work towards it and never give up. But once you have done all you could, do have some patience and you will get what you want!

Happy Sunday ermm... Monday

Sunday post: Never give up on something you really want!

Sunday thoughts. Whether it's a job, a new apartment, a trip you been planing to do for a while or the encounter with a human being so dear to you, whatever it is the #quoteoftheday you can find on my Instagram today (@minnieknows) kind of puts everything into perspective. At least for me. I have been reading Masha's Sonntags Posts for a while now and have been feeling so inspired. The Sunday posts are always the best I must say. I know, all of us love fashion, and reading about designers and new pieces someone has in their wardrobe so we all can unite in buying the one particular piece of clothing. I'm not judging anyone - else I would be judging myself. But for me personally and what I want Minnie Knows to be revolving about, I say enough with the superficiality! It's time to introduce the weekly Sunday post or should I say thought?

Since I've been super stressed about my upcoming trip to New York where I'm planning to stay for two months, I started reading and rea-reading my babe's Alice impressions of her 6 months stay in the City when she interned at Alexander Wang. What?! Amazing right? Long story short. I still haven't found a room to rent and although I'm impressed with Alice for organising her accommodation once she got there, I'm too much of a control freak and scaredy cat to hope for the best once I'm there! Thanks to Alice who also was so kind to email me some advice on where to stay and what's a good and safe neighbourhood, I'm also living on craigslist these days. Literally.

So when I read todays quote I instantly associated the message with my current situation! I know I know, it's only an internship and it's only for 2 months. But still, it's a country I've never been to, a place so far away from home and all my loved ones and just so so big! Although I'm from London I still feel like New York will be on another level! Nonetheless, I'm so very excited to finally be there and hope I can sort our everything prior to my departure in a few weeks!

Whatever happens in the next few weeks, I won't give up on this dream of being in New York, living and working because I really really want this! Although it's difficult to wait, to plan and make sure everything goes right (even though you can't control everything right), it sure is more difficult to regret!

So whatever you want, whatever you really really want, don't give up! Travel, experience, take risks, adventure, have fun and above all LIVE!

Happy Sunday

Interior Inspo

Interior Love. Those of you who follow me on Instagram HERE will know that I'm soon moving back to Berlin, the city of my heart, my first love and home! I'm so excited for all that is ahead of me, starting with my new apartment and how to decorate it. So expect an interior post on this space now and then, from now on! I simply delight in looking at interior photos especially on Pinterest just to get some inspiration on what I want to do with my room, kitchen or home work space!
I'm still looking for the perfect apartment which proves to be more of a challenge than I thought but once I found my dream place, I can't wait to start decorating!

P.S If any of you are from Berlin and know of anyone looking to rent his/her 2 bed Apartment (preferably in Prenzlauer Berg, Kreuzberg or Friedrichshain) then let me know!

Have a lovely day!

Wedding Attire

Wedding. As you have already seen in my previous Berlin article (HERE), this is what I wore to my friend's wedding that i was honored to be part of! I know I know black isn't really the color to wear to a wedding but I thought one can never go wrong with a little black dress. I was so happy when I found this little stunner by Monsoon! The detailing is so gorgeous and the length was just perfect too. I paired it with black mid heels and voila, I was good to go.

The whole wedding day festivities which were so very beautiful, made me think about what a huge decision it actually is to say 'I DO' and dedicate one's life to this one person. Many of my friends have been getting married lately and I couldn't be more happy for them! I'm so impressed by everyone who takes that step and decides to spend the rest of his/her life with the ONE person that makes them truly happy. Isn't that what everyone wants in life?
I am so incredibly happy for my friends who are now husband and wife.

CONGRATS AGAIN!

TRAVEL: Berlin

Monsoon Dress // Chanel Bag // New Look Heels // Bvlgari Bracelet // Vintage Earrings

Berlin. As promised, here are the photos I managed to snap in Berlin while busy catching up with family and friends and spending quality time with my loved ones! After my amazing trip to and throughout the South of France, I spent a week in Berlin where I primarily visited to attend the wedding of a very good friend of mine, hence the fancy first photo up there! I had a splendid time, as usual.
Those of you who have been to Berlin know how special this city is. I have been missing home, family and my friends a lot lately and although I'm currently planning my 2 months stay in New York (starting next month), I am so excited to start putting my permanent move back to Berlin into action!

TRAVEL: From Nice with Love

Holidays. Two weeks of sun, delicious food, good wine and the best association have unfortunately come to an end. To be precise, I've been back since Thursday last week but upon my arrival I instantly fell into the so called post holiday blues! Nice - was the dream destination this year. Well, it more or less has become tradition to spend a week up in Bagnols, the south of France with my best friend and family.
I started my holiday in Nice, where I arrived and was picked up but my lovelies! After an amazing weekend in the village and trips to Marseilles for a special event, we finally got to chill and hang out by the beach in Saint Raphael which is approximately 40 mins on the bus from where my friend lives. We met up with other friends and mostly walked around town, taking photos of pretty houses and doors! The Côte D'Azur must be my favorite place on earth! The scenery is just beyond stunning and the weather always perfect!

During the week we then had time for a venture to Cannes, a place I have always dreamed of visiting. It was beautiful to walk around and just admire the beautiful buildings and shops! We did some shopping (obviously) and had lunch before we headed back home on the train. It only took about 30 min to travel from Nice to Cannes! How amazing huh?! My amazing holiday continued with more beach-ing, eating, chilling and drinking! After an amazing day in the old town of Nice (where we did some more shopping and took more photos hehe) we finally took a car to Italy, Bordighera and enjoyed a day at the famous Market along the beach. We did all this in just a week. What an amazing trip - I can't wait to get back next year!

Graduation Essentials

Essentials. If you guys follow me on Instagram, you have seen that I graduated from University last week! What a feeling that is: I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU! 3 years of studying have finally come to an end and I couldn't be more happy, at the moment at least.
A proper post on my amazing day at The Royal Festival Hall with my family coming up soon. In the meantime, here are the cutest most chic shoes I (accidentally) found at New Look, on my way to work a day before my Graduation! What a luck huh? On a side note: You can never go wrong with a simple, black pair of heels!

Lots of love,

Hallhuber Autumn/Winter Campaign Shoot #behindthescenes

Hallhuber A/W '14. Happy weekend lovelies! I hope you are enjoying the weather. A week ago I had the pleasure of shooting the Autumn/Winter Campaign for Haullhuber. It was so much fun, to say the least. Here are a few snap shots form #behindthescenes. I met the team and my two 'co-stars' the gorgeous Vicky from Bikinisandpassports and my babe Natasha from Girlinthelens (whom I hadn't seen for ages so yay to that) on set in Bloomsbury. We got to style 3 outfits with our favorite items of the upcoming Autumn/Winter collection while staying true to our individual styles. The weather was perfect but shooting autumn and winter pieces on a hot sunny day isn't as comfy as you may think *cough* *cough* We still had the best time and the team was just fantastic! Do check out Hallhuber.com idf you haven't heard of them yet. And if you are a UK resident you can find their latest collection , including the current brilliant sale offers at House of Fraser. I can't wait to show you the result of the shoot once the photos are done! Thanks again to the Hallhuber team for a fun shoot and the amazing make up artist Anna for making me look pretty on set!

Happy Shopping.
